Building a Tube Bias Meter with John

https://sites.google.com/gradschool.marlboro.edu/building-a-tube-bias-meter For my final project in Maker Centered Learning, I built an arduino based project to measure the bias of tubes in amplifiers. I've wanted to build something like this for a long time, so I'm thankful to have the time to explore and learn while making something useful. This was a true passion project.

An Investigation and Immersion into Rutland's Maker Space - The MINT

My final project is to create a couple tangible items or objects using two separate machines: laser cutter, and 3D Printer. Part of my project has been connecting and collaborating with folks from my local maker space, The Mint, in Rutland, Vermont. I've found the experience to be not only educational in terms of making and tools, but the best part has been tapping into a whole different group of community members, teachers, artisans and craftsman who have different interests, professions and skill sets. String Art Project -Faith

I learned a lot throughout this making journey. I have always wanted to be more comfortable with woodworking and I enjoyed the challenge to create something for myself (although I might give it to my in-laws for Christmas) instead of just creating school projects. I did much of the project after school hours or on the weekend but many students watched the progress throughout the weeks because I kept my materials at school. They, most importantly, saw me as a learner and maker. They made constant suggestions for improvement which was greatly appreciated and often followed. Many students wanted to join in on the fun and create their own. I need to gather more pieces of wood over winter break so we can get started! In the end, I was surprised that this project is perfectly accessible for all grades 1-6! Here is link to my project site that documents the process!
